Cloud Engineer – T Cloud & European Cloud (all genders)

You work on cloud environments focused on Telekom Cloud and European platforms. You combine compute, networking, storage and automation with the requirements of customer applications. Differences between providers are examined explicitly rather than transferring existing cloud patterns without review.

Telekom Cloud, OVHcloud and Hetzner differ in their APIs, IAM and available managed services. You assess capabilities for the specific workload and design suitable operational processes. Networks, volumes, snapshots and recovery are considered together. In OpenStack-based environments, compute, networking and storage are all part of troubleshooting. IaC and test runs show whether the environment can be reproduced and restored.

• Build infrastructure in T Cloud and suitable European cloud environments and provision it automatically.
• Configure and test networks, storage, backup and access in line with the target architecture.
• Migrate workloads, set up interfaces to existing systems and document technical dependencies.
• Test monitoring, operational processes and recovery and clearly report platform differences back to the team.
• Provision provider-specific IAM, network and storage configurations through APIs and IaC.
• Test migration, snapshot behaviour and recovery on the selected platform and document differences.

What matters is demonstrable experience that is relevant to the role. It may come from appropriate vocational training, a degree, professional practice or a well-founded career change. We will align the specific level of responsibility with your knowledge and experience.

• Experience with cloud infrastructure and strong foundations in Linux, networking and storage.
• Practical experience with infrastructure as code, APIs and automated deployments.
• Ability to explore new platforms systematically and document their limitations.

This knowledge is helpful, but you do not need to have all of it at once. In your application, describe where you have already gained practical experience and which areas you would like to explore in greater depth.

• Experience with OpenStack-based platforms, Telekom Cloud, OVHcloud or Hetzner.
• Knowledge of hybrid connections, container platforms or cloud migrations.

You create a technically verified environment that fits the customer's workload and operating model. Documentation and automation make the solution transparent and maintainable for the operations team.

This role can be based in Cologne or performed remotely. We will agree the specific form of collaboration, project requirements and any necessary customer appointments before you start.

This role is offered as permanent employment on a full-time or part-time basis. We will agree the responsibilities, working hours, start date and compensation to suit the role and your level of experience.
