Frontend Developer (all genders)

You build interfaces that allow people to complete complex tasks clearly. Alongside clean implementation, consistent interactions, accessibility and strong performance across devices matter. You work with design and backend teams on seamless user flows.

A multi-step form must preserve input, explain errors and remain usable on a small display. You develop consistent components with clear keyboard navigation. For data views, you clarify filtering, sorting and empty results. Focus, semantics and responsive transitions are part of the implementation. Real user journeys are also tested with slow APIs, long content and validation-related returns to earlier steps.

• Implement responsive application interfaces and reusable components within the existing design system.
• Develop forms, data views and interactions including loading, empty, error and success states.
• Account for semantics, keyboard operation and understandable feedback and safeguard them with suitable checks.
• Optimise API integrations, state management and performance and automatically test relevant flows.
• Implement form steps, error feedback and data views with controlled focus management.
• Test layouts and interactions on mobile devices and with keyboards and assistive technologies.

What matters is demonstrable experience that is relevant to the role. It may come from appropriate vocational training, a degree, professional practice or a well-founded career change. We will align the specific level of responsibility with your knowledge and experience.

• Practical experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript or TypeScript and a modern frontend framework.
• Understanding of responsive design, semantic markup and fundamental accessibility.
• Ability to translate API contracts and UX requirements into reliable user flows.

This knowledge is helpful, but you do not need to have all of it at once. In your application, describe where you have already gained practical experience and which areas you would like to explore in greater depth.

• Experience with design systems, complex forms or end-to-end testing.
• Knowledge of rendering strategies, web performance or internationalised applications.

Your work makes business functions understandable and reliable to use. An interface is only complete when it also works with a keyboard, small displays and realistic error states.

This role can be based in Cologne or performed remotely. We will agree the specific form of collaboration, project requirements and any necessary customer appointments before you start.

This role is offered as permanent employment on a full-time or part-time basis. We will agree the responsibilities, working hours, start date and compensation to suit the role and your level of experience.
