Your role at OTOKO®
You make quality a transparent part of development. Instead of collecting as many tests as possible, you identify the user journeys and integrations whose failure would cause the greatest harm. You work with development and project teams to find defects early and make well-founded release decisions.
Tests for reliable release decisions
A happy-path test says little about expired logins, duplicate uploads or failed system responses. You derive tests from business risks and choose between API, integration and browser levels. Test data and preconditions must be reproducible. Unstable tests are addressed at their cause. Defect reports contain the expectation, actual behaviour and steps to reproduce.
Your responsibilities
- Develop risk- and requirements-based test strategies for web applications, APIs and integrations.
- Create automated integration and end-to-end tests and integrate them reliably into CI/CD.
- Organise test data, environments and defect reports so that problems are reproducible.
- Conduct exploratory testing and systematically address flaky tests, coverage gaps and defect trends.
- Automatically cover critical flows involving permission changes, timeouts and invalid inputs.
- Integrate isolated test data and meaningful artefacts into CI/CD and remediate unstable tests.
What you bring
What matters is demonstrable experience that is relevant to the role. It may come from appropriate vocational training, a degree, professional practice or a well-founded career change. We will align the specific level of responsibility with your knowledge and experience.
- Experience with software testing and at least one test-automation tool.
- Understanding of APIs, browser applications and version control.
- Ability to describe defects clearly and assess test results according to actual risk.
Additional strengths
This knowledge is helpful, but you do not need to have all of it at once. In your application, describe where you have already gained practical experience and which areas you would like to explore in greater depth.
- Knowledge of performance, accessibility or security testing.
- Experience with contract testing or automated test-data provisioning.
What matters in this role
Your results provide a reliable basis for release decisions. A fast test run is only useful if it finds relevant defects and its results remain reliable.
