Business Analyst – Enterprise Systems (all genders)

You clarify what an enterprise system must achieve for the business and how existing processes can be improved effectively. You work with business departments and technical teams to establish a shared language. Requirements should support decisions and later be verifiable against concrete results.

Edge cases often reveal the actual system requirement. You clarify roles, data sources, approvals and exceptions and model the workflow clearly. Developers and testers receive acceptance criteria with examples. Where several systems are involved, you define business ownership and data rules. Changes are assessed for their impact on existing processes; unresolved decisions are made visible before implementation.

• Capture business processes, data flows and existing system boundaries together with business stakeholders.
• Formulate requirements, user flows and verifiable acceptance criteria.
• Make priorities and dependencies visible and resolve questions from architecture, development and testing.
• Support acceptance and process changes and ensure that documentation matches the actual implementation.
• Develop acceptance criteria with data examples, authorisation rules and exceptions.
• Document data ownership and process transitions and compare them against tests.

What matters is demonstrable experience that is relevant to the role. It may come from appropriate vocational training, a degree, professional practice or a well-founded career change. We will align the specific level of responsibility with your knowledge and experience.

• Experience in requirements analysis or functional support for enterprise software.
• Ability to structure workshops and bring different perspectives together clearly.
• Understanding of interfaces, data quality and verifiable business rules.

This knowledge is helpful, but you do not need to have all of it at once. In your application, describe where you have already gained practical experience and which areas you would like to explore in greater depth.

• Experience with ERP, CRM, process modelling or integration projects.
• Knowledge of agile working methods, test design or change support.

You reduce misunderstandings between business and technology teams. Your requirements explain not only a desired function but also its purpose, relevant edge cases and the criteria for successful implementation.

This role can be based in Cologne or performed remotely. We will agree the specific form of collaboration, project requirements and any necessary customer appointments before you start.

This role is offered as permanent employment on a full-time or part-time basis. We will agree the responsibilities, working hours, start date and compensation to suit the role and your level of experience.
